These are unusable as clothing, but the material is fine. They used to take rags to make into linen paper and such, but I can’t find anything like that under “Recycling”. I wouldn’t even mind shipping them somewhere - I just **** to waste.

I have a very large number of data cd’s I need to get rid of. I’m not looking to reuse them in an art project or anything and they’re of no use to anyone else. Is there some place that will recycle them for me?

It’s such a waste, and a lot of people don’t recycle the bottles! Everyone should buy a reusable and washable bottle to carry with them, instead of buying a new bottle of water every time they get thirsty, then throwing it away. It makes sense to me, anyway.

I’m not exactly sure where in India, but I heard that there was a city of about40,000 people that had a drought problem. They reused the rain water on their crops and land and have undergone great change for the better. It took about 8 years for the entire community to participate. Could you imagine if the whole United States can accomplish something like that?

I’m not saying that all recycling is tree-hugger propaganda, just that some of it doesn’t make sense.

One type of recycling I agree with is aluminum. Reusing it takes way less energy than mining and purifing new ore.

Recycling glass is not practical though. You make glass out of sand, and you can find sand anywhere. Recycling old glass takes more energy than making new glass. This means that you actually waste energy, going against the whole principle of recycling.

If this sounds familiar, it was in a book I recently read by G. Gordon Liddy.

anywho, do you agree disagree, or just not give a fu

my friend and i thought it would be a good idea to start recycling at our dance studio because we go through a lot of plastic water bottles and paper.
we are currently looking for something for people to put bottles in that we can set by the trash can in the lobby, but we haven’t found anything clearly marked for recycling.
we also need to find something for paper.
any ideas?
also does anyone know where to take the bottles/paper after we collect them to get money for them?

Before you get rid of our recycled bottles (plastic or glass) do you rinse them out or just get rid of them.
I always clean them, but isn’t that a waste of water.
