Can you recycle plastic peanut butter containers with PB stuck to the inside?

Adam F asked:

They’re the same plastic as soda bottles, so I know the material is recyclable, but peanut butter jars always have so much stuck to the sides of container so I don’t know if you can recycle that or not.
